Meet The Team
At Road To Home Rescue we have a dedicated staff of volunteers with a passion to help the animals. Below you will find a few of our many volunteers and a little bit about them.
Elyse Giurco
Founder
I started Road To Home Recue Support in 2013 to help animals find their road to home. After years of working with local shelters and rescues, I decide to start my own rescue, which, since, has helped rescue and rehome over 1000's dogs and cats! Our organization is made up entirely of dedicated volunteers, who never fail to do anything and everything for animals in need.
Jenn Nucci
Rescuer and Foster
Jennifer is a graduate of St. John's University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management and an MBA in Management.
She started her career in managing an assisted living facility but through her volunteerism with animal rescue groups and shelters, she found her passion for the veterinary industry and has been working in Pet Care ever since.
As a Hospital Manager, her goal is to help members of the community be the best pet owners. She is passionate about educating pet parents on responsible pet ownership and looks forward to being a part of our clients' pet(s) journey.
In her spare time, you can find Jennifer spending time with her dogs, Mya and Jack or cuddling up to her cats, Oscar and Gus. Jennifer also enjoys being active with scuba diving, kayaking, swimming and biking.
Melissa Roberts
Foster & Admin Support
We are a family of 4 humans and 5 furbabies. Depending on how many fosters at the moment we can have upwards of 20 furbabies in our home. My family and I have been fostering for 12 years now and have had well over 500 fosters (And my husband has yet to divorce me!). It's not easy sometimes, sometimes it's fun, messy, heartwarming, heartbreaking, but always worth it! When you see the difference you made in that one life it fills your heart.
Alana
Foster & Admin Support
Alana is an ambitious 10 year old who has always had a love for animals. Her mom says that Alana has wanted to be a veterinarian since she could remember. This amazing young lady has been hands on with every animal that she has come in contact with. She has a soft spot for dogs, cats, and horses but loves all animals.
Alana started her first horse riding lesson at the age of 5, she hopes to one day buy a farm and have her own horses (along with many other animals).
Since Alana's time volunteering with RTHRS, we noticed that many of the foster animals are very drawn to her. She shows them love and compassion when they need it the most. She even fostered, rescued and adopted her own RTHRS dog. Alana is supported by her family, where they embrace her love for animals.
Sheri Russi
Foster & Application Processor
My entire life I've had a passion for helping animals. Skunks, birds, racoons, you name it, I've saved it. It has always been my passion and always will be.
